Village Voice: A reminder of what happens during snow emergencies

Village crews work around the clock through major snowfalls to keep the Village streets as safe and passable as possible. Please keep the following tips in mind:

- Crews do not wait for a snow emergency to be declared to begin clearing roads. If you are able to park your vehicles off the street, please do so. Once the public lots at the Depot and the corner of West Buckeye Avenue and North Gilbert Street are plowed, please consider using those lots.

- A snow emergency may be declared in Ada, per Codified Ordinance 351.21. If a snow emergency is declared, parking is prohibited on certain public streets, including Gilbert, Johnson, Simon, and College Streets, and Turner, Montford, Highland, Buckeye, and University Avenues. If a snow emergency is declared, the information will be posted on the Village website, as well as released to the media.

- Your cooperation and consideration are a great help during such times. If you must be out, please remember to drive slowly, and limit the amount of driving you have to do before we are able to get the streets plowed.

Our ultimate goal is to provide safe, passable roads throughout the snow season. Your cooperation by staying off the roads during and after large amounts of snow is a great help to our crews.
