June-July Community Highlights - here's what's going on in Ada in June and July

It's summer and, yes, lots of events take place in Ada. Here's the Community Highlights for June and July provided by the Ada Icon. An attachment at the bottom of this story offers these calendar listings in a printer-friendly format, for hanging on your refrigerator.

Community Events

• Ada Food Pantry (located in basement of First Presbyterian Church of Ada)
Tuesdays 4-6pm
Saturdays 10am - 12noon

• Free community meals
o Crock Pot Tuesdays, ReStore, 4-6pm Community Lunch Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12-1pm
o Last Wednesday of the month, St. Markʼs Lutheran Church, 5-6:30pm

• Farmersʼ Market – Ada Railroad Depot Parking Lot  4-7pm each Thursday in June and July
• Music Boosters – Lions Club Bingo  1st, 2nd and 4th Thursdays – Alumni N-menʼs Building, doors open 5:30 pm; Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m.
• Music on Main returns to downtown Ada this summer, thanks to the Buy Ada First committee.

June 12 5-8 pm at the Depot Park. Music will be provided by the Bank Kwik Fire (sponsored by Liberty National Bank) from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a vendor show from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Depot building. Free ice cream provided by Dietsch Brothers (until supplies last). Supplies for the ice cream were donated by Sodexo.  The Ada Rotary Club will hold a pre-sale chicken barbecue dinner during the event at Hays Insurance.

July 10, with music performed by the Band Common Thread (sponsored by Reichert's and Quest Federal Credit Union).

Ada Public Library
Saturday, May 30th, 10a.m.-2p.m. Summer Reading Kick-Off which includes:  Touch-a-Truck, 4-H animals, face painting, and a Used Book Sale (run by the FRIENDS of the Library). Sign-up for the Summer Reading program too which is for ages Birth-Adult.

The Freed Center
Family Fun Fridays at the Freed!  Come and enjoy a fun filled family movie night with the Freed Center on the Tundra. The event will start at dusk and will last till the last credits play. Popcorn and beverages will be available for purchase. Don't forget to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.  This event is sponsored by Blanchard Valley Heath System
