New writing group for adults begins at Ada Public Library tonight
Writing can be a lonely process. But it doesn't have to be!
New Ada Library staffer Amy Eddings begins a bi-weekly meet-up for adult writers and aspiring writers at 6 p.m., tonight, Wednesday, May 13, at the Ada Public Library.
Eddings will lead the group in writing practice exercises in the manner of Natalie Goldberg's classic guide, Writing Down the Bones. Copies of the book will be made available at the library.
Participants will have the opportunity to share their work in a non-judgmental, supportive process. Writers will then be encouraged to launch into work on their own projects, whether that’s their next blog post, the latest chapter of their novel, or their thesis. The vision of the Adult Writing Group is to provide writers with a supportive community of fellow creatives and the quiet, focused time to write.
Eddings has more than 20 years' experience as a journalist. She currently contributes to this online publication, Ada Icon. She was most recently the local host of NPR's "All Things Considered" at WNYC in New York City.
The Adult Writing Group will meet the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. In May and June, those dates are:
May 13
May 27
June 10
June 24
