Over 200 high school students in Ada June 4-7; lots of service projects in the plans

 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. volunteering in projects throughout Ada

Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar - HOBY Ohio West, comes to Ada Thursday to Sunday, June 4-7.

HOBY is a four-day leadership seminar for over 200 high school sophomores from northern and western Ohio held at Ohio Northern University.

The HOBY program inspires students to recognize their leadership talents and apply them in becoming effective, ethical leaders in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities.

On Saturday HOBY participants will have a community service day in Ada from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ambassadors will complete house projects, help at the parks, fire station, Restore and many other locations.

There will also be a free car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rite Aid parking lot. Ambassadors will also hold a food drive service project to help the Ada Food Pantry.

Ambassadors will collect canned food and non-perishable food items on Saturday. Ada residents should leave can food items on their doorsteps in plastic bags from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for pick up.
