Get ready for the 38th annual Ada Music Feast Saturday

It's a feast of music this weekend at Ada High School.

The 38th annual Ada Music Feast Show Choir Invitational Competition is Saturday, Nov. 7,  at Ada High School.

This year’s program features talented young men and women from 14 visiting show choirs from Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana.  Ada Varsity Singers, under the direction of Abigail Glenn, vocal music director and Jonathan Lischak, director of instrumental and co-director, will also provide an exhibition performance as the host school for this day-long event.

Ada Music Feast always draws a “standing room only” crowd and is one of the best attended and well run show choir competitions in the Midwest.

The event is held in the Ada High School Auditorium and the first group will take the stage at 8:30 a.m.  Performances continue throughout the day with the daytime awards ceremony at 5 p.m. in the Ada varsity gymnasium.

An evening “finals competition” for the six top-scoring groups during the daytime prelims will begin at 7:30 p.m. The awards ceremony for the  finals competition concludes the day at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Spectators can expect to witness spectacular singing and dancing whether they attend a few performances or stay for the entire day.

Thirteen-year Master of Ceremonies John Shuffle will welcome nearly 1,000 singer/dancers, instrumentalists and stage crew members to the contest. Each show choir performs a set of songs between 15-20 minutes in length and will traditionally have two to three costume changes.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $12 for adults, $8 “Golden Buckeye” Senior Citizens and $5 for students K-12 for daytime competition.

Evening finals performances are a separate admission charge: $10 for adults, $7 for Senior Citizens and $5 for students.

A combination pass can be purchased for both daytime competition and evening finals for $20 adults and $10 for Senior Citizens or students.
