Matt Gossman ran for school board to become more involved in the community

Matt Gossman was elected a new member of the Ada school board last fall. He was sworn in the first of the year. We asked him to tell us about his background.

How long is your term? Have you previously been on the school board?
It is a 4 year term and this is my first term.

Tell me about your job and educational background.
I work for Marathon Pipe Line out of Lima.  I have an associates degree in manufacturing engineering.

What other civic and professional activities have you been active in?
I am on the Farmers and Merchants picnic board and currently its vice president.

Tell me about your immediate family.
I have two boys whot go to Ada School. My wife also graduated from Ada.

Why did you run for school board?
I ran for the school board to get more involved in the school and community.

How might you make a difference at the Ada Schools?
I will continue to put the students and community first.

What more would you like to see accomplished by the local school system in the next couple of years?
I am new to the board and team so I will learn as much as I can and make informed decisions to the best of my ability.
