Alice Grant was an avid quilter

Alice I. Grant, 94, died on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 10:35 a.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

She was born on June 4, 1921, in Columbus Grove, Ohio to John and Esther (Liecthy) Dunbar who preceded her in death. On April 9, 1938, she married Harold F. “Fuzz” Grant and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1992.

Alice was a mother, farmer’s wife and homemaker. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Ada. Alice was a member of the Women of the ELCA and the LaFayette Wednesday Card Club. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed making quilts for others. Alice donated her time by working at the Ada Food Pantry.

She is survived by her six daughters: Delores (John) Marshall of Lakeview, Joann (Bill) Kerns of Pandora, Judi (John) Badertscher of LaFayette, Mary (Mike) Bacome of Dublin, Pam (Steve) Robey of Cairo and Connie (Scott) Epley of Lakeview; 13 grandchildren: Tina (Michael) Bess, Faith Marshall, Jennifer (Dennis) Salisbury, Willy (Shana) Kerns, Monica (Jerry) VanderHorst, Melanie (Brian) Kershner, Lyndsie Bacome, Ian Bacome, Jason (Amanda) Robey, Joshua (Taylor) Robey, Sharon Epley, Eric (Kim) Epley and Gail (Mike) Cooper; 24 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters: Carolyn and Ruth Ann; two grandsons: John Ira Marshall II and Jeron Steven Robey; two brothers: John and Don Dunbar; two sisters: Dorothy Herrmann and Mary Margaret Hoffer.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Rev. Robin Ramos officiating. Burial will be in Desenberg Cemetery, LaFayette.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the LaFayette-Jackson Rescue Squad and/or St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Ada and/or Zion Lutheran Church of LaFayette and/or Lima Public Library-LaFayette.
