What did you read this summer - and look at all these announcements from Ada schools

Summer is over, but the Ada school library wants to know what Ada students read over the summer. There's a contest with prizes involved.

Students are invited to stop in the media centerfor contest details and your chance to win. Students and staff will also be entered into a drawing for any new books checked out between now and Friday, Aug. 26.

Lots of tother things are on the school calendar. Here's a update from the school website:

Student Council will meet Thursday during lunch in the Media Center. Please plan to pack your lunch and report directly to the Media Center as we have a lot of information to cover. See Mrs Smith or Mrs. Bowden with any questions or conflicts.

Juniors taking CP English: Mrs. Smith has books from the Ada Public Library to help you on your search for this nine-week's independent reading selections. Please stop in the library to pick one up this week.

Attention Senior AP English students: The Ada Public Library as multiple copies of your required reading on hold for you. Please stop this week to pick up your copy.

Book Club is back! Get your copy of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children from the library and read the book before the movie comes out next month. Our first meeting is Friday, Sept. 16. See Mrs. Smith with any questions.

HS QUIZ BOWL: Any student in grades 9-12 interested in being a member of this year’s quiz bowl team should meet in Mr. Lusk’s room at 7:45 am on Wednesday.

ATTENTION ADA HIGH SCHOOL LADIES WHO ARE JUNIORS AND SENIORS, AGES 16-18: Applications are now available for the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest & Herb Festival Queen Contest. The Festival  is Saturday, Sept. 17. Applications can be picked up in the Ada High School office or by contacting Arlene Allison in the elementary. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 5 p.m.

Attention anyone interested in Film Club: We will hold our first meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. in Mr. Ames' room. Also, T-Shirt forms are available in Mr. Ames' room. $9 for S-XL and $11 for XXL-XXXL. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Ames.
