LIMA - The Ada cross country team ran well at the Lima Bath Invitational Tuesday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs finished fifth out of seven teams behind freshman Abbie James, while the Bulldog boys came in 11th out of 14 with Eric Armbrecht and Larry Zembower leading the way.

"Today was an impressive showing," said first-year head coach Josh Klein. "Although some times were not our fastest of the season, the team walked away with four new personal records.

"Olivia Ennis took off about 30 seconds off of her PR, and Alexis Ennis took off another nine seconds," Klein continued. "Seniors Jil Wolber and Mara Guyton continue to shave off time from their PR's; Mara took off another two seconds while Jil took off 27 seconds.

"This was an impressive feat for Jil as she had just won the pie eating contest for the senior class during homecoming festivities," he noted.

"Additionally, I had set the goal for the boys team to beat Allen East, as we had just barely lost to them at the Riverdale meet. They successfully defeated their conference rival school by a margin of 24 points," Klein added.
