All the music you can eat - 39th annual Ada Music Boosters' Music Feast is Saturday

Community members may attend Ada’s exhibition performance, free of charge, at 5:15 p.m.

It's this weekend.

It's the 39th annual Ada Music Boosters Ada Music Feast Show Choir Invitational Competition.

Fourteen show choirs from Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana will compete on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Ada Varsity Singers, directed by Scott Henning, vocal music director and Jonathan Lischak, Ddirector of instrumental and co-director, will provide an exhibition performance as the host school for this day-long event.

Ada Music Feast always draws a “standing room only” crowd and is one of the best attended and well run show choir competitions in the Midwest.

The event will be held in the Ada High School Auditorium and the first group takes the stage at 9:30 a.m. 

Performances continue throughout the day with the daytime awards ceremony at 6:45 p.m. in the Ada varsity gymnasium. 

An evening “Finals Competition” for the six top-scoring groups during the daytime prelims will begin at 8 p.m.  The awards ceremony for the finals competition concludes the day at approximately 11 p.m. 

According to the Music Boosters: "Spectators can expect to witness spectacular singing and dancing whether they attend a few performances or stay for the entire day. 

Fourteen-year master of ceremonies John Shuffle will welcome about 1,000 singer/dancers, instrumentalists and stage crew members to the contest. 

Each show choir performs a set of songs between lasting between 15-20 minutes with two to three costume changes. 

Tickets are available at the door: $12 for adults, $8 “Golden Buckeye” senior citizens and $5 for students K-12 for daytime competition. 

Evening finals performances are a separate admission charge: $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $5 for students.  A combination pass for daytime and evening finals costs $20 adults and $10 for Senior Citizens or students.

10:30 a.m. –Teays Valley
11:15 a.m. – Vermilion
11:45 a.m. – Grove City
12:15 p.m. – Shaker Heights
1:30 p.m. – Riverside
2 p.m. – Churubusco
2:30 p.m. – ETC
3 p.m. – Twinsburg
3:45 p.m. – Olentangy Orange
4:15 p.m. - ETC
4:45 p.m. – Twinsburg
5:15 p.m. – Ada Varsity Singers
5:45 p.m.- Findlay

According to the Music Boosters: "Ada’s Music Feast is a much-anticipated competition in the area and takes countless hours of planning and organizing. 

Over 2,500 people are expected to walk through the doors of Ada High School for this day-long event. 

It takes over 300 volunteers to make this event successful.  If you are looking for a way to give back to the music program and the amazing kids involved, please consider volunteering for a short time to help make this event the best it can be.
