Village update from the Streets

Leaf pick up and paving plans

Village wide leaf pick up is well under way!

As temperatures continue to fall and frosts hit our ground, so will the leaves. If you are staying ahead of the game by continuing to rake to the tree lawn area, our crews greatly appreciate it! As in the past, the street crew will temporarily suspend pick up next week, as it is a short week due the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Leaf pick up will resume for the final, planned week on Nov. 28 – Dec. 1.

Once crews have finished with leaf pick up for the season, please bag any leaves and call the Village office to schedule a pick up.

Paving is expected to begin on North Simon Street within the next week. Asphalt plants typically shut down for the season around Thanksgiving, so the village and contractors are working hard to meet that deadline. The paving program that was planned on other village streets may be postponed until next year, if contractor schedules do not allow for completion yet this fall. Several of the streets that were planned to be paved will be patched by Village crews to get through the winter months.
