Ada swimmers set many records at Saturday Sprints

Boys have six first-place finishes

By Cort Reynolds

BUCYRUS - The Ada boys swim team finished a solid fourth out of 12 teams and set several records at the Eagle Sprint Meet hosted by Colonel Crawford Saturday.

Ada posted six first-place finishes, five of which were meet records. Seniors Andrew Ross and Andrew Robey, junior Zach Beaschler and freshmen Klava Katayama and Isaac Spar set meet records for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs did well despite having just four swimmers from each of the boys and girls squads able to compete. Two second-place Ada finishes also eclipsed previous meet marks.

"The team was in excellent form this weekend," said head coach Tanner Holke. "We had a lot of good races, and our work in practice was evident in the meet."

Host CC won both the boys and girls team titles, with Marion Pleasant second in both. The Ada boys scored 173 points and Lady Bulldogs tallied 77.
