Senior Kelsey Commager (Maumee) and sophomore Maddy Reed (Lucasville/Piketon) had phenomenal day's on the track and in the field as the No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's track and field team finished third at the All-Ohio Championships in Westerville on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 44-8 overall and finished third of 17 teams.
Commager led the way for the Polar Bears as she won both the long jump and the triple jump for the third time in four meets.
The senior won the long jump with a leap of 18' 1.00" and was victorious in the triple jump with a new school record jump of 38' 1.25".
Commager broke her own previous mark she set in 2016.
The senior also added a fourth place finish in the 60-meter dash, as she finished in :8.03 seconds.
Reed posted a second place finish in the pole vault and broke the school record held by former Polar Bear Nicole Hope since 2010 with a vault of 12' 10.75".
The team of seniors Meagan Ellinger (Bath, Ind./Union County), Michelle Mosler (Wapakoneta), junior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) and sophomore Taylor Fisher (Wapakoneta) narrowly missed breaking the school record in the 4x400-meter relay, as the team won the event in 3:59.72.
In the 60-meter hurdles, senior Allie Gast (Grandville, Mich.) won the event in :9.19 seconds.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday as they compete in the Mount Union Raider Tune Up in Alliance, Ohio.
