Paul and Commager's record days lead No. 12 Women's Track & Field at Keeler Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Senior Kendra Paul (Ada) and senior Kelsey Commager (Maumee) set the school record in the javelin to lead the No. 12-ranked Ohio Northern women's track and field team at the Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

Paul finished third overall in the javelin throw and posted a new school record with a toss of 138' 1".

The throw currently ranks 13th nationally.

Commager also posted a school record and competed in the triple jump, posting a fourth place finish with a school-record leap of 38' 4". 

In the 800-meter run senior Nicole Huber (Findlay) finished 24th in 2:17.70, while senior Genevieve Marchese (Beavercreek/Carroll) finsihed 44th in 2:24.48.

Marchese also posted a top-25 finish in the 1,500-meter run, finishing the event in 5:00.86.

Senior Rebecca Carman (Bellefontaine) competed in the 100-meter hurdles and posted a 13th place finish in :15.46 before finishing eighth in the long jump with a leap of 17' 9".

Commager also competed in the long jump and posted an 11th place finish with a jump of 17' 2".

Sophomore Taylor Fisher (Wapakoneta) finished ninth overall in the 400-meter hurdles and ran a season-best time of 1:03.43.

The 4x400-meter relay team of seniors Meagan Ellinger (Bath, Ind./Union County), Michelle Mosler (Wapakoneta), junior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) and sophomore Avery Ewing (Kokomo, Ind./Eastern) posted a seventh place finish in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:55.38.

Junior Kelly Wollenslegel (Clyde) competed at the Baldwin Wallace Harrison Dillard Twilight meet where she placed sixth in the pole vault with a vault of 10' 10.25".

The Polar Bears will return to Naperville next week as they compete in the North Central (Ill.) Gregory Invitational in their final regular season meet.
