Barbara J Klingler, 1934 - 2017

Barbara J. Klingler, age 83, died on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at her residence in Ada surrounded by her family and friends. 

She was born on July 25, 1934 in Troy, Ohio to Richard Clayton and Annabelle (Price) Hetrick. Her father, Richard Clayton Hetrick died in 1938. 

Her mother, Annabelle later married James O. Orders who adopted Barbara and her sister. Her mother, Annabelle died in 2004 and her father, James died in 1986. 

On October 2, 1954 Barbara married Leonard E. Klingler and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2003. 

Barbara served as a bartender for the VFW Post #9381 of Ada and managed the canteen for a number of years, where she was an honorary member. 

She was a 1952 graduate of Ada High School. 

She attended the First Baptist Church of Ada. 

Barbara was an avid OSU fan, she enjoyed going to the Tavern 101 (Little Mexico) and visiting the girls at 302 Carryout and boating at the lake. 

She loved spending time with her family and all of the family gatherings. 

She is survived by her three children: Dennis (Michelle) Klingler of Elida, Rodney (Fiance Kristen Preston) Klingler of Alger and Lee Anne (Brian) Goldsberry of Bluffton; twelve grandchildren: Michael (Mindy) Klingler, Ty (Sabrina Neely) Klingler, Nick (Billie Cheeseman) Klingler, Brittney Klingler, Travis (Bridget) Klingler, Emily (Craig) von Stein, Ashley (Travis) August, Gabe (Makenna Salsbury) Goldsberry, Cecily (Gage Perkins) Preston, Cole Butler, Liam Preston and Kinsie Klingler; six great grandchildren; and a sister Beverly (Clair) Romick of Ada. 

Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Donald Klingler. 

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Jack Duffy officiating. 

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. 

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
