Middle school student faces charges of Inducing Panic
An Ada junvenile will face charges of Inducing Panic, as a result of a weekend of a threat investigation toward Ada schools, according to Michael Harnishfeger, Ada police chief.
The police department issued the following news announcement concerning the investigation:
On Saturday morning, April 7, the Ada Police Department began an investigation into threats towards the Ada Schools.
After working the case throughout the weekend in conjunction with the FBI, a search warrant was executed in Ada on Sunday afternoon where several items were confiscated related to the case.
Along with the search warrant, interviews were conducted throughout the weekend resulting in resolution to the case. The Ada Police Department and the FBI identified the juvenile who was responsible for making the threat. The juvenile, an Ada Middle School student, will be facing charges of Inducing Panic.
It is important to note that although a threat was made, investigation revealed that there was not an intent to carry through with the threat, nor did officers find serious means by which to carry out the threat.
As always the Ada Police Department will maintain a presence at the Ada Schools on Monday and throughout the school year.
