Mattie Huber

“You are the smartest children I know. You just don't believe it.”
―Trenton Lee Stewart, The Mysterious Benedict Society

Name: Mattie Huber, age 14, 9th grader at Cory-Rawson

Mattie Huber’s favorite book is The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. It is a juvenile fiction book in the fantasy category. Four children are selected after answering a newspaper ad calling for gifted children looking for special opportunities.

They embark on a secret, mysterious and surprising mission where the only rule is that there are no rules.  Mattie selected this juvenile novel because “it is filled with fun and mystery and perils!”

Five other books recommended by Mattie are:
• The Fairest Beauty by Melanie Dickerson (fiction, middle ages)

• The Healer‘s Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson (fiction, middle ages, Christian, love)

• The Detective’s Assistant by Kate Hannigan (fiction, mystery)

• The Case of the Missing Moonstone by Jordan Stratford (fiction, mystery)
