Liberty National Bank celebrates 125 years on Oct. 3

Open house in Ada office from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Liberty National Bank will mark its 125th anniversary on Wednesday, Oct 3, with an open house from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 118 S. Main St.

In 1893, the Bank was first chartered and organized in Ada  as a State bank under Ohio laws and was known as the Ada Savings Bank.

On June 8, 1901, the bank was granted a charter to operate as a National bank and it was then that it became known as the First National Bank of Ada.

The Liberty Bank was organized in April of 1902.

In 1958, the board of directors of these two institutions joined forces and decided to merge the two banks for the good of the community. By Sept. 30, 1958, this was accomplished. At the time of the merger the present name, Liberty National Bank, was adopted.
