Ada's Dellifield, Mattson 2nd at NWC track meet

HARROD - The Ada track and field teams competed at the annual Northwest Conference championship meet hosted by Allen East this past Thursday and Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs came in seventh out of nine teams, while the Bulldog boys finished eighth.

Columbus Grove swept both the boys and girls team titles.

Ada junior Nora Dellifield took second in the pole vault to post the top Lady Bulldog showing.

Bulldog senior Noah Mattson came in second in the shot put and was fifth in the discus tolead the Ada boys. Philip Gautier placed third in both the high jump and long jump. Michael Crouse came in fourth in the 400.

Ada's Brenna Hissong ended up fourth in the 400 meters. Olivia Green took fifth in both the long jump and 300 meter hurdles, and was sixth in the 100 hurdles.

Host Allen East finished seventh in the boys standings with 35 points, just ahead of Ada (30). Bluffton took second in the boys standings and was fourth in the girls standings.

AE ended up fifth in the girls final tally with 54 points. Ada scored 39.5 points. Lady Mustang Anamya Truex won the NWC high jump title with a leap of 4-10.

Ada and AE will compete in the Div. III district meet May 16 and May 18 at Liberty-Benton in Findlay. USV, Hardin Northern and Bluffton will also compete at the 20-team event. Top four finishers advance to the regionals at Tiffin May 22/24.
