“Hidden Figures” showing Saturday at library

Story of three African-American women who worked for NASA in the 1960s

Ada Public Library features a free showing of the movie “Hidden Figures,” at noon on Saturday, June 22. The movie is part of the library’s summer reading program activities.

About the movie
Hidden Figures is a 2016 film, loosely based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly, about three black female mathematicians who worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during the Space Race. According to 20th Century Fox, "The visionary trio crossed all gender and racial line and inspired generations."

The film stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Dorothy Vaughan.
