Men's soccer
The Ohio Northern men's soccer team won its second game in row Saturday, topping Oberlin 4-0 on the road at Fred Shults Field. The victory improved the Polar Bears to 3-2-1 on the season.

The win featured four different goal scorers, three of whom had not yet netted a goal in their respective careers. Sophomore midfielder Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) got things started with his second score of the season, a 27th-minute goal assisted on by junior forward Beelal Hasan (Westerville/Thomas).

Just over a minute later King recorded the assist on junior forward Sergio Bugarin's (Murrieta, Cal./Murrieta Valley) first score of his career. Sophomore forward Seth Gundlach (Wilmington) stretched ONU's advantage to 3-0 with a 67th-minute goal assisted on by junior midfielder Jimmy Walkinshaw (Plymouth, Mich./Canton).

Junior defender Josh Grant (Westerville/North) put an exclamation point on the night with his 83rd-minute goal assisted on by freshman forward Daunte George (Bellefontaine).

The Polar Bears peppered Oberlin with 23 shots — both Hasan and Gundlach led the way with four apiece — on the night and 12 of them were on frame. The Yeomen, on the other hand, managed just seven shots, only one of which required a save from ONU sophomore goaltender John Lombardo (Solon), who completed his third shut out of the season.

Northern has a quick turnaround, traveling to Huntington (Ind.) Monday for a 4 p.m. contest.

Volleyball
The No. 21 Ohio Northern volleyball team participated in the Wittenberg Classic Saturday. The Polar Bears battled two ranked foes and came away with a split.

Women's soccer
The Ohio Northern women's soccer team scored three goals in the first 28 minutes to cruise to a 3-1 win against Calvin (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.

Junior Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) scored unassisted goals in the 5th and 20th minutes to lead the Polar Bears (3-1-2).

"[Fuller]'s opportunistic and that's what you want out off a good goal-scorer," 16th-year head coach Mark Batman said.

The Knights (0-5-1) scored on a penalty kick in the 32nd minute.

In the 5th minute, junior Sydney Leshnak (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) sent a deep ball down the left that was flicked on by senior Rose Nienaber (Cincinnati/Oak Hills). Fuller ran onto the ball, made a move on a CC defender, and slipped a shot past the keeper to put ONU up 1-0.

Fuller added a second goal in 20th minute by chasing down an errant Knights pass. Fuller beat the CC keeper to the ball, sliding to get a touch to sent it just inside the left post, extending ONU's lead to 2-0.

Junior Emma Barney (Oak Harbor) scored in the 28th minute off a low cross from senior Haley Moses (Mason). Barney gathered and fired a shot that was deflected by a Knights defender into the back of the net.

Four minutes later, CC responded with a goal off a penalty kick to draw within 3-1.

The Polar Bears nearly added to their lead on a strike by Nienaber in the 53rd minute, but the Knights keeper leaped to make the save.

Northern's defense held CC to six shots, with two on-frame. ONU had 11 shots, producing six on-target attempts.

ONU held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
