Reece Lane was retired from Cooper Tire, Findlay
Reece M. Lane, 84, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at 3:59 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born on July 9, 1935, in Rosslyn, Kentucky, to the late Walker and Ida Belle (Fryar) Lane. On Nov. 23, 1957, Reece married Grace Jenkins and she survives in Ada.
Reece retired after 20 years from Cooper Tire Company of Findlay, where he worked as a millwright. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict serving from 1953 to 1955. Reece was a life member of the VFW Post #9381. He was a member of the Union Chapel Missionary Church, Lima. Reece took up golf after he retired as his favorite pastime.
Also surviving are two sons: Scott (Ruth) Lane of Kalida and Steven (Gail) Lane of Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Patricia (Roy) Stephens of Lima; five grandchildren: Cory (Ben) Maag, Rachel (Andrew) Zuercher, Jessica (Casey) Danner, Georgette Lane and Reece Stephens; five great grandchildren: Madisyn Maag, Lawson Maag, Dillan Krohn, Raegan Krohn and Mason Zuercher; and two sisters: Phyllis Center of Cleveland, TN and Joyce Turner of Greenville.
Reece was preceded in death by six brothers: Clay, Dewey, Oren, Floyd, Hubert and Wayne Lane; and seven sisters: Ruth Estes, Enzie Oaks, Bonnie Melton, Nora McKenzie, Faye Lewis, Dorothy Lane and Florence Lane.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Mark Bayliff officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, with graveside military rites conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
