Rosa E. “Rosie” Rolston 1921-2012

Rosa E. “Rosie” Rolston, 91 died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 3:50 a.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.

She was born March 17, 1921 in Ross County, Ohio to Glenn and Grace (Wilson) Bowdle and both preceded her in death.

She married Raymond D. “Whitie” Rolston on July 4, 1943 and he died on October 19, 1973. Rosie retired after 20 years of working for the US Postal Service. She was a member of the McGuffey Church of Christ.

Survivors include: 2 SONS:
Keith (Marsha) Rolston of Findlay, Ohio and Daniel (Lisa) Rolston of Louisville, Kentucky;

Ohio Northern University engineering students compete in SAE Aero Design competition

A team of students from Ohio Northern University’s Smull College of Engineering competed in the Lockheed Martin / Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aero Design 2012 competition, hosted by Georgia Model Aviators. Northern’s team finished 22nd out of 40 squads in its class during the competition, which was staged in conjunction with the SAE Aero Design East 2012 event in Cumming, Ga., April 27-29.

For the competition, each team must design, build and fly a radio-controlled model airplane that is able to take off, fly successfully and land with a payload on board. The payload is increased between flight rounds to see which team is able to lift the most weight.

Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law to celebrate commencement

Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law will celebrate its 2012 commencement ceremony in the ONU Sports Center on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 2 p.m. Approximately 90 students will be awarded degrees, and Dr. Daniel DiBiasio, Ohio Northern University president, will preside.

The ONU Sports Center is scheduled to open for the commencement exercises at 12:30 p.m. A musical prelude will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the procession of faculty and juris doctorate candidates.

John Paul Bratcher of Marion, Ind., will give the invocation, and Heather Armstrong of Elmira, N.Y., will sing the national anthem.

Let's go haunting at Ada High this weekend

Ada High School presents  "A Haunting We Will Go," Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13. The tickets are $4 for students and $5 for the general public. The performances are Saturday, May 12, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 13, at 2 p.m. 

Peg Gordon is the director/Drama Club advisor. Amy Stover is the production assistant.
