Sign-up starts for Ada youth football

Programs available for youth K to 6th grade • new website enables online registration

It’s only May, but Ada youth football registration (K through 6th grade) is now underway, according to Adam West, coach.

“This is the first year we are using online registration on our new website,” said West. Here’s what you need to know:

You can register on the website by clicking here or going to:

West said that it is important to registering early to help determine how many coaches and volunteers are needed this season.

“We are not asking for any payments at this time,” he said. “In the current situation we are optimistic that the season will start on time, but just in case we have decided not to collect any fees until closer to the start of practice, which could be  in late August or early September.

Estimated costs for participation follows:
• K-2 flag - $35-$40 for registration, shirt for each player, and equipment
• 3rd – 6th - $65 for registration ($30 for each additional player in the same family)

• $30-$45 for jersey.  Each player will purchase a jersey one time and use it each season.  Another jersey will not need to be purchased in future seasons unless the player needs a new size.

“We are still pricing jerseys for this season but we wanted to give everyone approximate costs,” said West.

Registration fees cover equipment like flags, tackle bars, helmets, pants, pads, footballs and practice equipment

Ada Youth Football joins the Developmental Football League

The Ada Youth Football Program joined the Developmental Football League. This league will start this fall. The focus of the league is to serve the kids/athletes from the inside out, build fundamentals, teach the game of football, and have fun!

This league will include grades K-6 and will see some significant changes to the way our program has traditionally done things.

Our number of players have steadily dropped year after year and we felt that this was the right time to make a move to this new league. We believe these changes will increase participation, promote the fundamentals of the game of football, get more players on the field, and ensure the safest possible environment for our young athletes.

• Grades K-2 will be playing flag football

• Grades 3 & 4 will be playing 8 on 8 padded flag football for 3 games and tackle bar for 3 games

• Grades 5 & 6 will be playing 8 on 8 tackle bar for 3 games and rookie tackle for 3 games.

This league currently includes Ada, Kenton, Riverdale, USV, and Hardin Northern.
