One person killed in two-car accident Thursday

Aaron Evans, passenger, died at Lima Memorial Hospital

A two-car accident Thursday evening (July 9) in Ada resulted in three persons hospitalized. One of the three died as a result of wounds that he appeared to suffer as a result of the accident.

The official Ada police statement follows:

On Thursday, July 9, at 6:12 p.m. officers of the Ada Police Department were dispatched to the scene of an injury accident on South Johnson Street and East Lehr Avenue.

Also responding were Ada-Liberty Township fire, Ada-Liberty EMS and Alger EMS.

Upon preliminary investigation, it was determined that a vehicle driven by Billie Boutwell, with Aaron Evans as a passenger, was southbound on South Johnson. Her vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a vehicle driven by Catherine Summit, who, according to eyewitnesses, had just run a stop sign on East Lehr.

All three were injured in the crash and transported to Lima Memorial Hospital. Aaron Evans later died at the hospital from wounds the he appeared to have suffered from the crash.

The Ada Police Department with assistance of Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and other agencies are currently investigating the details of the crash.
