"I hope to turn art into a career"
Kylie Colwell, an Ada High School senior, is the Icon October artist of the month.
This fall she is enrolled in Art 4 and has taken Art 1, 2 and 3.
She is currently working on her art portfolio to prepare for art school admissions. In addition to visual arts, she has been involved in dance for 14 years.
Gary Wells, Ada HS art teacher said, “Kylie is a naturally gifted artist whose attention to detail has always been superior.”
Kylie's own art comments follow: "This piece (in the photo) is a stylized still-life painting of things I found around the classroom that I made for my college portfolio.
“I've been drawing ever since I was little and I'm excited to study it more and hopefully turn it into a career."
