Bill Kanzig was retired from Ohio Northern University

He drove bus for the ONU Habitat for Humanity for 16 years

William G. “Bill” Kanzig, 72, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at 4:48 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on April 7, 1948, in Kenton to the late Floyd A. and Freda (Yeazel) Kanzig. On Oct. 25, 1966, he married Marlita F. Frederick and she survives in Ada.

Bill retired from Ohio Northern University where he worked as a machinist technician at the College of Engineering. He worked as a part time bus driver at the university.  He drove bus for the Ohio Northern University Habitat for Humanity for 16 years. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran who served from Feb. 14, 1968 to Feb. 13, 1970. 

Also surviving is his son, Robert Kanzig of Ada; a daughter, SheaLea (James) Lockschmidt of North Lewisburg; three grandchildren; a brother, Gene Kanzig of Alabama; and three sisters: Harriet Whittaker of Kenton, Karen Longstreth of Lakeview and Nancy Wendle of Kenton.

There will be no service. It was Bill’s wish to be cremated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
