DELPHOS - Ada sophomore guard Courtney Sumner received All-Northwest Conference girls basketball honors from league coaches in voting conducted at their annual selection meeting held recently.

Sumner led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring, steals, assists and three-point goals to earn honorable mention all-league notice.

The Lady Bulldogs finished their regular season 5-14 overall and 1-7 in the NWC.

Sumner also was named honorable mention all-league last season as a freshman.

Spencerville senior Emma Leis was selected the 2020-21 NWC Player of the Year in voting by the league coaches.

Joining Leis on the All-NWC first team were junior Kenzie King (Columbus Grove), Cali Gregory (Crestview), Alyvia Lindeman (Delphos Jefferson), Olivia Cunningham (Crestview) and Janae Pease (Paulding).

The second team was comprised of Alycia Lindeman (DJ), Erin Downing (CG), Jalynn Parrett (Paulding), Bailey Gregory (Crestview) and Kendall Bollenbacher (Lincolnview).

Sumner was the highest vote-getter not to make the second team.
Allen East freshman Savana Brooks was also named HM all-league.

Mark Gregory, who guided Crestview (7-1 NWC) to a share of the league championship with Delphos Jefferson, was selected the NWC Coach of the Year by his peers.

Spencerville, Paulding and Grove all tied for third at 5-3. Bluffton came in sixth (4-4), followed by Lincolnview (2-6), Ada (1-7) and AE (0-8).
