Margery Ruth Jordan was retired from United Technologies

Margery Ruth (Canaan) Jordan, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 12:25 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

She was born on June 19, 1928, in McGuffey, Ohio, to the late John and Merle (Lewis) Canaan.  On Dec. 31, 1946, Margery married the late Richard (Dick) Jordan.

Margery is survived by her two daughters: Linda Jordan-Allen of Kenton and Kim (Jeff) Fitzgerald of Alger; a daughter-in-law, Deanna Jordan of Alger; nine grandchildren: Carl Allen, Lori Johnson, Michelle Taylor, Blake Cole, Dylan Cole, Shane Jordan, Joslyn Snyder, Jake Sanders and Jackie Wireman; 17 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Margery was preceded in death by her son, Jack Jordan; five sisters: Mary Clark, Opal Jarvis, Maxine Barfell, Elsie Wilson and Ruth Runser; and two brothers: Gail Canaan and Austille Jarvis.

Marge retired from United Technologies after working for 30 years.  She lived a long, wonderful life.  United Technologies was her job, but her unwavering passion was her family.  She was supportive and loving through thick and thin.

She raised her children and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart.  She and Dick loved so much attending the grandkids sporting events. If the grandkids needed something, from a ride to a bite to eat, they were there.

She was a 1946 graduate of McGuffey High School. Marge and Dick both enjoyed backing the USV Rams, and Marge always wanted to know what channel the Buckeyes were on in the fall to watch Ohio State win another football game.

Marge and Dick could be found many days at their home in McGuffey sitting in their lawn chairs near their garage just spending time together and greeting friends and neighbors.

After 18 years since Dick passed, they are enjoying that time together again.  Marge was a friend to many and a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and wife.  She is surely hugging Dick and Jack, rejoicing in their heavenly reunion. Goodbye Mom, Grandma Marge. You will be missed each and everyday until we see you again.

Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements.  Face coverings must be worn while attending visitation and service.

Private family services will be held at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada, with Pastor Dan Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
