Neumann women's medalist at Pioneer Classic 2

Here’s an update on Ohio Northern University women’s golf.
Senior Annika Neumann (Valley City/Avon) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golf Player of the Week for the week of March 16-22.

She won Medalist honors with a 78 to lead Ohio Northern to a victory at the Pioneer Classic 2 at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette.

Neumann began the week with a third place finish with an 81 at the Pioneer Classic in Beverly, helping ONU finish second of four teams.

She averaged 79.5 strokes per round in her two matches last week.

ONU at Muskingum Invitational
Senior Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) won Medalist honors for the ninth time in her career to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a victory at the Muskingum Invitational on Monday at the Zanesville Country Club. 

Cranmer fired a 77 to lead a 1-2-3-5 finish for the Polar Bears (8-1 overall).

Freshman Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) was second of 23 golfers with a 79 and sophomore Torrie Smith (Russiaville, Ind./Western) was third with an 84.

Sophomore Meghan Utterdyke (Lebanon/Fenwick) was fifth with an 87 and sophomore Karlee Staugler (Saint Henry) was 14th with a 98.

Ohio Northern won the team title with a 327. Marietta was second with a 373, Muskingum was third with a 374 and Capital was fourth with a 420.

Pioneer Classic
The Ohio Northern team opened its 2021 season with a second place finish at the Pioneer Classic on Saturday at Lakeside Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (2-1 overall) were second out of four teams with 332 on the 5900-yard, par-72 course.

Otterbein won the team title with a 329, Marietta was third with a 370 and Muskingum was fourth with a 373.

Senior Annika Neumann (Valley City/Avon) tied for third out of 37 golfers individually with a 9-over par 81 to lead Ohio Northern.

Freshman Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) was fifth with an 82, senior Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) tied for seventh with an 84, sophomore Karlee Staugler (Saint Henry) was ninth with an 85 and sophomore Meghan Utterdyke (Lebanon/Fenwick) tied for 17th with a 90.

Otterbein's Lyndsey Blum won Medalist honors with a 75.

The Polar Bears will return to action at a second Marietta Classic on Sunday at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette.
