Bulldog CC competes at district meet

Four Ada cross country runners completed their season by competing in the Div. III district 2 meet at Columbus Grove Saturday, October 23.

Bulldog senior Riley Ferguson paced the Ada boys by coming home 43rd in a time of 20:59.5. It was his final race for the purple and gold.

Freshman Kaleb Couch crossed the finish line 53rd in 22:08.8.

Junior Tristen Dalton ended up in 62nd place with a time of 27:30.3.

"The kids ran well," said veteran Bulldog head coach Josh Klein. "The Bulldogs ran hard. All of the boys I believe ran season-best times."

Allen East senior Hunter Sidle finished second in the 65-runner boys race in 16:40.6 to qualify for regionals. Perry senior Brady Yingst won the boys race easily in 15:45.4.

Lincolnview captured the boys team title with 44 points, followed by New Bremen (64).

Ada sophomore Jillian Hazelton finished 45th in a time of 27:19.3. She was the lone female Bulldog to run.

"Jilli had a strong run after coming off of crutches and a boot the previous week," said Klein. "It was definitely a great way to finish the season."

Ada sophomore Elsie Allen was unable to run due to illness.

Waynesfield junior Taylor Spencer won the 52-runner girls race in a time of 20:00.4.

Fort Recovery won the girls team title with 45 points. New Bremen was a close second with 54.
