Ada mat men battle Wildcats, Panthers

The Ada wrestling team entertained Bath and McComb Monday evening, December 20, in a tri-match. 

Due to several individual weight class forfeits, there were no official team score results. Five bouts were held in each Bulldog match, with nine of the 10 decided by fall.

Ada finished ahead of Bath 18-12 and was behind McComb, 18-12.

Bulldog Trevor McGue won his bout vs. McComb's Carter Scheff with a pin at 5:07 in the third round at 132 lbs.

Ada's Josh Arnett won via pin at 157 lbs. 15 seconds into round two over Panther Trace Bryan.

Bulldog Clayton McClain lost a hard-fought match at 138 lbs. to McComb's Daniel Rader by an 8-4 decision.

Ada's Colton Cole was pinned at 165 lbs. by Panther Brady Womack with 51 seconds left in the third round.

Bulldog Landon Simon fought a spirited match at 175 lbs. vs. Tanner Bryan. He rallied within 11-8 early in the third period, but then fell behind 17-8 before being pinned with 21 seconds left in the match.

Against Bath, 120 lb. Bulldog Liam Vieira pinned Jaxon Richey at 4:12.

McClain then pinned Wildcat Jayden Shaw at 4:26 at 138 lbs.

Cole posted the other Ada win at 165 bs. over Wildcat Skyler Thomas via pin at 3:25.

Arnett was pinned at 157 lbs. by Bath's Ezekiel Burkholder at the 3:28 mark.

Simon also fell at 175 lbs. by pin at 1:20 to Wildcat Nolan Deppe.

Ada is scheduled to wrestle at Bucyrus Wednesday, December 22 at 2 p.m.
