Bulldog swimmer Baumgartner 2nd at district meet, sets school records

BOWLING GREEN__Ada High School junior Lily Baumgartner finished second at the Bowling Green Div. II district in both the 100-yard backstroke and 100 freestyle races Friday, February 16.

She thus qualified for a third year in the row to the state Div. II meet in Canton next week. Baumgartner also set school records in both events despite a sore left shoulder. Baumgartner, committed to swim at Ohio University, finished second in both events to senior Kim Periat of Port Clinton.

Ada freshman Tim Chrissobolis finished a solid 19th in a field of 32 swimmers in the boys 200 individual medley race.

Bulldog sophomores Lydia Demascio and Alyssa Nau also competed at the district meet. DeMascio took 29th in the 100-yard backstroke, while Nau touched 31st in the 100 breaststroke.
