Public Meeting: Neighborhood Revitalization October 29

The Village of Ada has announced the following public meeting;

Neighborhood Revitalization Meeting

Saturday, October 29, 2022 10:00 a.m. at the Ada Historic Railroad Depot

Hardin County and the Village of Ada are planning to apply for a grant to make improvements in the community. The Village is holding a meeting to discuss the proposed grant with residents and to gather their ideas for area projects.

Summary of September 20 Ada Council meeting

With four guests including the Ada Icon and Kenton Times, the Ada Council chambers in the municipal building were at capacity seating on Tuesday, September 20.

The 90-minute meeting included a 46-minute executive session with EMS Chief Tom Miller with no action taken.

OPEN FLOOR
During the open floor period, Dustin Jordan answered questions from the council regarding the 150th Fire Convention itinerary proposal (2024). Council focused their discussion on the impact on Main St. traffic and whether the road would need to be closed or traffic temporarily diverted, as is done for shorter parades. Council passed a motion that it would continue to consider the application.

September Board of Education meeting summary

The Ada Schools board of education met on Monday, September 19 with board members Amy Mullins, Matt Gossman, Ron Fleming and Ted Griffith present. Steve Ramey was absent.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
During the “Hearing of the Public” segment, Mullins advised visitor Adam Baumgartner that he had three minutes to address the board. Baumgartner spoke about his frustrations that 7th grade football players would go two weeks without any play time. He said the email response from the athletic department did not answer any of his questions. Mullins responded that the board would contact the athletic department and that someone would get back to him.

Final Grandview public meeting September 27

The Village of Ada has announced a public meeting for the Grandview Boulevard Reconstruction Project at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27.

The event will be held at the Community Health Professionals Building, 1200 S. Main Street.

OPWC Grant $500K
OPWC Loan $750K
Assessment $200K
Village Share $705K

Advertising for bids is scheduled to begin on September 22; construction is anticipated to begin April-May 2023; and construction is expected to be completed in October 2023.

Sept. 19 Board of Education meeting

The Ada Exempted Village Schools, 725 West North Ave., will hold the September Board of Education Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19 in the board meeting room.

Board members are Dr. Amy Mullins, President; Matt Gossman; Ronald Fleming; Steve Ramey and Ted Griffith.
