Judge issues Temporary Restraining Order against OHSAA; Board of Directors will set voting dates

OCT 21 MEDIA RELEASE__In response to a lawsuit filed by a student-athlete on October 15 against the Ohio High School Athletic Association regarding Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), a Franklin County judge opened the case on Monday by issuing a 45-day Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the OHSAA.

The 45-day TRO prevents the OHSAA from enforcing its bylaw that prohibits a student-athlete from being compensated for his/her Name, Image and Likeness.

OCT 21 MEDIA RELEASE__The Village of Ada has announced the following leaf pick-up schedule and instructions on how to participate. The Village has designated four districts and each will have leaves picked up on a set date.

Main St. and the railroad tracks are the dividing lines that create the quadrants. See the attached map.

Dates are subject to change due to weather or emergencies.

3 Bulldogs earn BVC notice

ADA __Ada High School senior volleyball standout Anna Conley was named a District 8 All-Star recently by coaches in the District 8 Volleyball Association.

The versatile 6-0 Conley will play for Team I in the District 8 Senior All-Star match. The contest will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at Coldwater High School at 7 p.m.

The All-Star banquet will be held Sunday, November 2 at 6 p.m. in Celina.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Sienna Fry was named Div. V Player of the Year.  

Ada finished a solid 15-8 overall and 4-6 in the Blanchard Valley Conference this season.

Janet L. Stoodt, age 83, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at The Grove at Oakleaf Village, Columbus. 

She was born on October 24, 194,1 in Lima, Ohio to the late Lloyd L. and Cora Ruth (Kidd) Stoodt. Also preceding Janet in death are three brothers: Richard Stoodt, David Stoodt, and Dennis Stoodt; and a sister, Carol “Sue” Perkins.

Janet is survived by her brother, Galen Stoodt of Lima; three nephews: David Ray (Kim) Perkins, Dale (Ann) Perkins and Darrell Perkins; and a niece, Alicia (Paul) Schultz.

Janet retired from Walmart after working for 20 years. She was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church of LaFayette.
