Ada Icon renews membership to Online News Association

Ada Icon has renewed its membership in the Online News Association (ONA).

The Online News Association is composed largely of professional digital journalists. Founded in 1999, ONA now has more than 2,000 professional members whose principal livelihood involves gathering or producing news for digital presentation.

The membership includes news writers, producers, designers, editors, photographers, technologists and others who produce news for the Internet or other digital delivery systems, as well as academic members and others interested in the development of online journalism.

Dr. Pam Lynch joins Eyes on Main staff

Dr. Pam Lynch, O.D., Doctor of Optometry, this month joined the staff of Eyes on Main, 107 S. Main St., Ada, according to Dr. Duane Wires. She is accepting new patients.

She works in the Ada office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and in the Findlay office on the other days of the week.

“I like to get to know my patients and make them feel comfortable,” she said about meeting Ada residents. She has treated patients as young as six months old and as elderly as persons in the 90s.

Peacock Water celebrates 60th anniversary July 18-20

Peacock Water, with local offices in Kenton and Lima, celebrate its 60th anniversary July 18-20.

The Peacock Water conditioning story began in Marion in 1906 when brothers Albert and Jim Peacock founded Peacock Brothers Plumbing.

In 1953, the brothers entered into the water conditioning business. This new business was named Servicesoft, and then changed to Neldon Peacock and
Sons, Inc. Now in its fourth generation, Peacock Water currently employs over 50
people in six offices.

Liberty National Bank's Donald Price recognized by ICBA

Donald Price, Vice President of Commercial Lending for Liberty National Bank, has been recognized by the Independent Community Bankers Association (ICBA) as an Outstanding Community Lender.

The ICBA published the Outstanding Community Lenders in their July 2013 issue of the Independent Banker Magazine, recognizing only eight Commercial Lenders in the nation, with Price being one of the eight.

The ICBA stated that these eight commercial lenders represent the best of their profession – for genuine respect and admiration from co-workers, which is the highest endorsement any worker can receive.

Krysti's Music Studio offers July 15-18 youth art camp

Krysti's Music Studio, 334 S. Main St., Bluffton, will hold an Art Camp for youth Monday through Thursday, July 15-18, at the Bluffton studio, according to Krysti Schey, studio owner.

Times to choose from are 10 a.m. to noon or 6 to 8 p.m. Depending upon the number of registrants a 2 to 4 p.m. time slot may open.

"This camp is for youth ages 5 through high school. The cost is $66 total, or only $35 if the student is also taking summer music lessons," said Schey.

Mandy Huston, a recent Bluffton University art graduate, will be lead the students in several projects throughout the week.
