USDA conducts hemp survey

USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will send the Hemp Production and Disposition Inquiry to over 150 Ohio producers on Jan. 19. This follows NASS’s 2021 Hemp Acreage and Production survey. Like the 2021 questionnaire, this year’s survey will collect information on the total planted and harvested area, yield, production, and value of hemp in the United States in 2022.

“The Hemp Production and Disposition Inquiry will provide critical data about the hemp industry to assist producers, regulatory agencies, state governments, processors, and other key industry entities,” according to the USDA NASS, Great Lakes Regional Field Office.

New transportation advocacy group forming in northwest Ohio

The following is an excerpt from The Crossroad, Ohio Department of Transportation news for Northwest Ohio.

A map displaying the counties currently represented by a transportation planning organization shows a glaring fact--many northwest Ohio counties are not included.

Chris Hughes, Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 deputy director, sought to remedy that and introduced the idea of forming a regional transportation planning organization (RTPO) to serve Van Wert, Putnam, Hancock, Hardin, Wyandot, Auglaize and Mercer counties.
