First graders musical performed twice on Thursday

Ada first graders will present a musical this week.

The musical is titled, "Bada Bing, It's Spring!" by Jill Gallina. Two presentations are planned, on Thursday, April 4, at 1:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Here's the storyline: The children are waiting for warm weather, the rain is pouring, the weeds have appeared, but the flowers are still nowhere to be found! Come join us as we have fun waiting for the first signs of spring!

Mom-to-mom sale in Depot on April 13

A mom-to-mom sale is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 13, in the Ada Depot, 112 Central Ave.

The sale will include gently used baby and child items, such as clothing, toys, games, shoes, bedding, bottles, and maternity items (such as clothes and breast pumps).

Galaxies on display at ONU Observatory on Friday, April 5

Dr. Jason Pinkney, of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, invites the public to "The Galaxies of Spring" program on Friday, April 5 from 9-11 p.m. at the ONU Observatory

Galaxies are a swirling collection of stars, gas, dust, and dark matter. They are generally difficult to see with telescopes because they are so far away and faint. During this time of the year, however, the closest concentrations of galaxies are positioned high in the sky by midnight. 

Crimson Lane spring open house March 31

Wedding and event venue northeast of Ada opened last fall

Crimson Lane, 4600 County Road 1, Ada, will hold a spring open house from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 31.

The wedding and event venue northeast of Ada was opened in the fall by owners Mike and Jodi Willeke.

The venue has proved popular with over 60 weddings already booked. Crimson Lane also hosts events such as weddings, anniversaries, reunions, birthday parties, graduation parties, showers and business conferences and meetings. It is be open year round.

The 10,000 square foot facility is nestled between a 10-acre pond and a woods. There is a winding sidewalk, skirting the woods, between the large parking area and the building.

Cory-Rawson performs "Cinderella" April 12-13

Cory-Rawson High School presents "Cinderella" Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium., according to Meredith Bixel, vocal music director.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased now in the school office or at the door the evening of the performances.

Kiwanis flipping them Saturday AM

How many pancakes can you eat?

Find out on Saturday. It's the 67th annual Ada Kiwanis Club Pancake and Sausage Day. If you're counting, it began back in 1952.

The meal will be served from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, in the Ada Schools cafeteria.

The cost is $7 pre-sale and $8 at the door for the all-you-can-eat meal. Children 10 and under are free.
