The Reservoir Dogs Disc Golf Club of McComb gets some play time in on a chilly Saturday morning at the ONU course.

"Quiet " reads the sign being held at right because it takes great concentration to throw the disc where the competitor wants it to go.

Road closures north of Alger and south of Roundhead continue while SR 235 in Alger will be closed for one day next week. 

State Route 309 between township Road 25 and county Road 35, north of Alger, closed Oct. 31 for two weeks for the replacement of three culverts. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 235, state Route 81 and I-75 back to state Route 309. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.

State Route 117 just south of Roundhead closed Oct. 25 for approximately three weeks for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 235 and U.S. 33 back to state Route 117. Work is being performed by VTF, Celina.

An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be held at the McGuffey Conservation Club, 6773 TR 55, from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12. Dine in or carry out are available for $8 which includes fish, baked beans, coleslaw, and roll. All are welcome.

The American Red Cross reports that patients are counting on blood donations all season long – even around the holidays when donations decline due to busy schedules and travel plans. 

A blood donation is a way to share your good health and may give patients a chance to experience more holiday seasons with loved ones.

At Bluffton Senior Citizens Center

Christine Schroeder of Healthe Habits for Living will present a free lunch and learn for seniors at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St., Bluffton.

“Persons attending will learn how to become a healthier person,” said Schroeder, who holds a master’s of occupational therapy (MOT) degree from the University of Findlay.

She added that the program will focus on fitness and well-being and the ability to cope with everyday activities.
