Miss Daniels Ada elementary 3rd grade class made Grinch Gloop with the help of high school science/biology teacher, Mrs. Bowden on Dec. 20.

The Grinch Gloop has properties of both a solid and a liquid. Christmas science fun.

3 Brothers Pizza under new ownership in January

Brian and Kelly Clum are purchasing the business from Rod and Linda Dysert

Rod and Linda Dysert have sold 3 Brothers Pizza, 105 S. Main, to Brian and Kelly Clum and will open Wednesday, Jan. 2, under the new name 3 Brothers Family Pizza. The Dyserts will continue to own and keep open the business until the new owners take over the first of the year.

By coincidence, the Dyserts have three sons, hence the name, and the Clums have three sons, so there is very little change in the business name.

Ada Family Center services

The Ada Family Center will have a Sunday Christmas service at 10:30 a.m. The congregation, which meets at Center on Central, will have a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Bulldog Arnett 2nd at Parkway Invite

PARKWAY - The Ada varsity wrestling squad competed at the 15-team Parkway Holiday Invitational meet Saturday.

Ada finished 11th at the annual event with 56 points. Celina won the team title with 215 points, followed in second by host Parkway (200).

The Bulldogs were only able to have three wrestlers compete due to injuries. Ada senior Noah Arnett went 4-1 in the heavyweight division to finish a strong second.

"We were winning in six of the seven matches we lost when our wrestlers got pinned," explained Ada first-year head coach Eric Perkins. "Overall, we had 19 takedowns compared to our opponent's four."  

Tommy L Prater, Sr. 1959 - 2018

Tommy L. Prater, Sr., age 59, died on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 5:33 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

          He was born on June 19, 1959 in Frankfurt, Germany to Russell and Maggie (Webb) Prater and they survive in McGuffey. On August 1, 1981 Tommy married Deborah “Debbie” Arnett and she survives in McGuffey.
