Did you miss the Fourth of July fireworks? No problem, Ken Collins took photos

If you missed watching fireworks on July 4th, it's no problem. Icon photographer Ken Collins, took photos of the Fourth of July celebration at Faurot Park in Lima.

One of the musical groups at the event was the Lima Area Concert Band, which draws its members from Ada and Bluffton and beyond.

Before the fireworks, some folks were sending Chinese sky lanterns floating into the sky over Lima.

Fireworks, rides, and food were other attractions.

Ada Food Pantry's July 4th treat

Every year on a Saturday near the 4th of July, the Ada Food Pantry prepares fixings for a traditional Independence Day meal--hotdogs or hamburgers, potato salad, watermelon, and corn on the cob.

This year, members of the Food Pantry served 27 households for a total of more than 80 people.

Plant diagnostic help available

Have a plant problem? Darla Crownhart and Judy Magee, both of Ada, as well as others may be able to identify the problem and suggest a solution.

Thirty-two Master Gardener volunteers from 8 counties learned how to diagnose plant problems during a clinic recently held in Kenton. Training was conducted by OSU Extension and hosted by the Hardin County Master Gardener Volunteers at Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative.

OSU Extension horticulture and entomology specialists Pam Bennett, Nancy Taylor, and Curtis Young provided instruction in the morning about disease, insect, and environmental factors with conifers such as spruce, pine, and fir trees.

Is ONU's Klondike really a ham?

The Icon is certain that ONU's Klondike is the most photographed person/animal in Ada.

According to the ONU Facebook: Klondike is spending some quality time with our new Polar Bears for summer orientation. Are you #NowAPolarBear? Show your pride and tag your best moment with Klondike.

Klondike is photographed with lots of in-coming students. In our mind, that makes him a ham for the camera. Check the photos below:
