John and Caimin just out for a walk with their pets

With 22 feet of pythons

By Monty Siekerman
John (right) and Caimin Goodman are taking their pet pythons for a walk.

John, who has had snakes as pets for 20 years, says people are shocked to see the snakes when the snakes are out getting fresh air and seeing the sights of Ada.

He said people want to pet them, and he lets them do so. John said pythons are harmless, but get a bad rap because some types of snakes are treacherous. He said he likes to educate the curious passers-by about his pets and reptiles in general.

Have any rats you want to get rid of? The pythons eat fresh killed rats (purchased at a pet store in Lima). They are fed about every three weeks.

Two questions: Where is this in Ada, and what does it say?

By Monty Siekerman
Know what this says and where it's located?

Hint: above a door where you pay bills.

The Latin phrase is ONU's motto: Strength through Diversity.

The university is known for its academic diversity, having offered classes in arts and science, engineering, pharmacy, law, and business for more than a century.

Answer: This wording is above the front door as you exit Lehr Memorial.

So, you think you know Ada.

Whose hand is this holding a Bible?

Hint: drive south on Main and keep watch to the west. It's part of the statue of Dr. Henry Solomon Lehr, founder of ONU. The statue is located between Hill and Dicke buildings. (Monty Siekerman)
