Ada sophomores visit Apollo Jan. 30

Approximately 650 sophomores in Apollo Career Center¹s 11-member district will be visiting Apollo during 411Blast, Friday, Jan. 30. Parents of sophomore students interested in attending Apollo for the 2015-16 school year are also invited to attend.

This day is designed to expose students to career possibilities that they may not know about. Students choose two programs of interest and then spend one-half day visiting those labs, meeting the instructors and participating in fun, interactive demos and activities.

Waste Management offers acceptable and unacceptable recycling list

Question: Can I recycle glass bottles, junk mail and chip board?
Answer: Yes.

Question: How about aerosol cans, styrofoam and window glass?
Answer: No.

Waste Management, Ada's refuse and recyling collection contractor, wants its customers to think green in 2015.

Baby, it's cold outside

With the highest temperature reading in the past seven days at 32 and the highest “low” reading at 21, there’s lots of reasons for school delays and bundling up extra tight this month.

Financial aid meeting Jan. 28 at Ada HS

Ada High School will hold its annual financial aid presentation for students, parents and community members.  The meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. in the media center. 

A representative from Ohio Northern University will provide information that is applicable to all colleges and universities.  Topics to be discussed will be completing the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, sources for aid, and specific concerns of those attending.  The meeting is open to the public.

Grades cards won't come home until Jan. 20

Due to the number of delays and cancellations over the past two weeks, Ada grade cards for Grades 6-12 will not be going home until Tuesday, Jan. 20, according to the school website.

The school wishes to give students every opportunity to complete end of semester assessments and assignments that may have been delayed because of inclement weather. 

1/21: Grade 4-5 Honor Roll Assembly
1:30 p.m. in the auditorium
1/19: No School
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
1/9: End of 9 weeks

This marks the end of the first semester. Grade cards will be sent home the following Friday.
