Dixie Thompson was a retired supervisor for Marimor Industries

 Dixie Lee Thompson, 78, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at 7:10 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada. 

She was born on June 18, 1941 in Lima, Ohio to the late Lester E. and Betty (Plummer) Mumaw.  On April 8, 1962, Dixie married David E. Thompson and he survives in LaFayette.  

Dixie was a homemaker and faithful supportive pastor’s wife. She retired in 1999 where she worked as a supervisor for Marimor Industries of Lima. Dixie was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod, where she sang at many church and funeral services. She was a 1959 graduate of Lima Senior High School.

Larry Weller 1947 - 2019

Larry R. Weller, 72, died at his residence in Lima, Ohio, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1947, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Norma (Obenour) Weller. 

Larry retired from Trinity Industries of Lima. He attended the Ada Church of Christ Disciples. Larry was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Mitchell Parr was a 2016 Upper Scioto Valley HS graduate

Mitchell D. “Mitch” Parr, 23, died on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at his residence in McGuffey.      

He was born on Sept. 28, 1996, in Lima, Ohio, to Donald D. Parr and Greta A. Miller. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Jumbo. Also surviving are his aunts, uncles and cousins.  

Mitch worked for Infrasource of Lima as a pipefitter. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 776 of Lima. Mitch was a 2016 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School.   

Funeral services will begin at noon on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus St., McGuffey,  with Dave Holbrook officiating. 

Donald Hartman 1941 - 2019

Donald J. Hartman, 78, died Oct. 26, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.  Donald was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Cecil and Esther Hartman. He was married to Ruth Hartman and she preceded him in death.

Donald had worked for 18 years at Clark Equipment and later at Shady Lawn Truck Stop in Elkton, Tennessee, where he serviced truck tires. 

Survivors include two sons, Brian (Ronda) Hartman of Holland, Ohio, Michael Hartman of Deerfield, Florida; a daughter, Barbara (William) Hevlin of Ada, Ohio; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Hartman of Bluffton.

Roger D. Hunnaman memorial service Thursday

Roger D. Hunnaman,  67, died on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019 ,at 3:04 a.m. at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, to Armon R. and Janet B. (Beal) Hunnaman. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Harrod. 

Roger retired after working as a corrections officer for Oakwood Correctional Facility, Lima. He enjoyed camping and boating.

Also surviving is Roger’s fiancé, Patty Haney of McGuffey; two sons: Jason (Donna Hewitt) Hunnaman of Harrod and Grant Hunnaman of Ada; three grandchildren: Drizzt, Jade and Caley; and two brothers: Bill Hunnaman of Harrod and Steve (Tammy) Hunnaman of Maysville.

Debbie Annette Allsup 1959 - 2019

Debbie Annette Allsup, 60, died on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at 7:52 a.m. at her residence in Alger, Ohio.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Leon and Hazel (Wicker) Hicks. She married Wally Allsup, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2010.

Debbie worked for Wal-Mart in Findlay as an Educator.  She attended Lima Senior High School and was a member of the Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends; she enjoyed painting, gardening and her work at Wal-Mart.
