Jane Hoffman was active in Ada First United Methodist Church

Jane Hoffman, 89, died on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1926 in Lima, Ohio, to Francis and Lucille (Razor) Blosser who preceded her in death. On Oct. 11, 1947, she married Dallas Eugene Hoffman and he died on Nov. 24, 2010.

Janet Kay Sweigart was an ER nurse at Bluffton Hospital

Janet Kay (Binkley) Sweigart age 73 years young, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in her sleep.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, to  Charles “Big Ed” and Mildred (Garrison) Binkley. Both parents have preceded her in death. She married the love of her life and soul mate John A. “Jack” Sweigart, Jr. on Sept. 1, 1963. Her husband preceded her in death in 2009.

Janet retired from Bluffton Hospital as an ER nurse. She graduated from Lima Memorial School of nursing and had worked on the 1st intensive care unit at Lima Memorial Hospital. She had also worked as an oncology nurse for Dr. Sharon Cole.

Bryon Gossard 1960 - 2016

Byron LeRoy Gossard, 55, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 6:35 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center Inpatient Hospice Unit, Lima.

He was born on June 2, 1960, in Lima, Ohio to Eldon R. and Cleo L. (Shaw) Gossard. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Harrod. On Feb. 5, 1994, he married Wendy R. Zimmerman and she survives in Harrod.

Ned Hall was retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant

Lyle “Ned” Hall, 81, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 9:38 a.m. at his residence, in Ada, Ohio. 

He was born on March 31, 1935, in Alger, Ohio to Lyle F. and Lecta (Gossard) Hall. They are both deceased. On Nov. 4, 1955, he married Betty L. Gross and she survives in Ada.       

Ned retired in 1991from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. He was a social member of the Ada VFW Post #9381, the Indian Lake Moose Post # 1533 and the Indian Lake Eagles Post #3615. Ned enjoyed retirement at Indian Lake and the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, taking long walks and visiting with people. Ned never knew a stranger.

Edith Baker, 1922 - 2016

Edith L. Baker, 93, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 10:50 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on July 14, 1922 in PennYan, NY., to Carl and Dellaphine (Cornell) Hatch, who preceded her in death. On July 28, 1940, she married Richard R. Baker and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1995. 

Edith has gone home to join her beloved husband. She was a wife, mother and homemaker and in her younger years was involved in her church and loved to knit and crochet. She has traveled through most of the United States and also lived in Brazil and Romania with her husband. 

Dean Dearth was retired from Anderson Tractor

 Dean D. Dearth, age 83, died on May 13, 2016 at 11:50 PM at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima. 

He was born on May 17, 1932, in Orange Township, Hancock County, Ohio, the house he lived in, to J. Kenneth and Mabel L. (Montgomery) Dearth who preceded him in death.   On Aug. 26, 1950, he married Sarah B. Willeke and she survives in Ada.
