Ronnie Howard worked for National Standard

Ronnie Howard, age 74, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 1:49 p.m. at Blanchard Valley Health System, Findlay.

He was born on April 27, 1947, in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Ira and Ezza (Allen) Howard.  On July 10, 1971, Ronnie married Sandra K. Gossman and she survives in Williamstown.

Also surviving is a son, Paul (Bobbi Jo) Howard of Dunkirk; two daughters: Pam Howard of Williamstown and Sara Howard of Van Buren; a grandson, Cody Howard; and two brothers, Ed Howard of Hertinger, North Dakota and Robert (Judy) Howard of Lakeview.  

Della M. Newland worked for Ada Schools

Della M. Newland, age 69, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 6:58 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.   

She was born March 18, 1952, in Kenton, Ohio to Tracy James and Teda (Patton) Fletcher who preceded her in death.  On September 6, 1986, Della married Robert T. Newland and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2008.

Della is survived by her daughter, Carol Fletcher of Lima; four stepchildren: Diana Hoffer, Steve (Pat) Burris, Mike (Sue) Newland and Robert Newland, Jr.; and her fur babies: Olyve and Popeye.

Leonard Wright Jr. served in the Korean War

Leonard P. Wright, Jr, age 91, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on February 13, 1930, in Alger, Ohio to the late Leonard Pearl and Marjorie (Cochran) Wright, Sr. 

Leonard retired from McCurdy’s Steel Products after working for twenty-four years.  He previously worked at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.  He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 and a member of the American Legion Post #185 of Ada.

Harold M. “Gus” Guthrie was a pastor

Harold M. “Gus” Guthrie, age 82, passed away at his residence in Ada on Monday, January 24, 2022.

He was born on April 27, 1939, in Roscoe, Ohio to the late Charles and Lillian (Dunn) Guthrie.  On February 2, 1958, Gus married Norma J. Shelton and she preceded him in death on January 14, 2018.   He later married Patsy Rice on April 27, 2019; she survives in Ada.

Gus is also survived by his two children: Kathy (Jerry) O’Hara of Gahanna and Steven (Shelly) Guthrie of Pandora; five grandchildren: Kristy (Reggie) Glaspie, Heather O’Hara, Jason O’Hara, Paige (Danny) Miles and Jordan Guthrie; one great grandchild, Willow Miles; and many nieces and nephews.

Phillip Bradley was a truck driver and farmer

Phillip W. Bradley, age 79, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on November 11, 1942, in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Adam and Ressie (Patton) Bradley.  On November 1, 1963, Phillip married Harriet Jane Ritchey and she survives in Alger.

Also surviving are two sons: Mark Bradley of Forest and Kurt (Leslie) Bradley of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Sherri (Randy) Heim of West Liberty; six grandchildren: Haily (Ethan) Conway, Hayden (Erin) Bradley, Creighton Bradley, Devin Bradley, Samuel Heim, and Ellie Heim; and two great grandchildren: Aliza and Hudson.

Landon Blankenship graduated from Ada High School

Landon A. Blankenship, 20, of Ada, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

He was born on December 17, 2001, in Charleston, WV to Allen and Kelli (Frame) Blankenship, who both survive in Ada.

Landon was a member of The Bridge Church, Lima. He loved sports, fishing, working out and spending time with his friends. He had a big heart and loved many and was loved by many as well.

Landon was a 2020 graduate of Ada High School, where he played on the football team, and worked part-time at Ohio Northern University  in Food Services.
