University to host pharmacy leadership summit

The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy will host a hospital pharmacy leadership summit at The Inn at ONU on Thursday, Feb. 11, beginning at 11 a.m.

This summit will allow for discussion of current hospital pharmacy hot topics. Each topic will be led by a leader in the field and presented to the attendees of the summit.

Three area steel bands perform at ONU Feb. 6

The Ohio Northern University Department of Music presents a Steel Band Day concert featuring the Glass City Steel from the Toledo Schools for the Arts, the Clark Montessori Steel Band and The Wild Steel-ions in Presser Hall on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m.

Cuba, Hollywood, Paris, Asia, Africa dance on Freed stage this weekend

Fourteen ballet dancers from New York City and 13 dancers, who won local auditions, will present "Cocktail Hour: The Show" on Saturday and Sunday at the Freed Center.

Marilyn Klaus is founder, artistic director, and choreographer of the troupe, New York City's Ballets with Twist.

The show consists of more than a dozen fast-paced vignettes, each song a different "scene."

Scenes take place in many parts of the world, such as Cuba, Hollywood, Paris, Asia, Africa, each with different costumes and music written especially for the show.

With 7 different curries from 4 regions on the table, where do you begin?

More than 100 people dined at ONU"s Curry Night on Monday in McIntosh ballroom.

Here, Benjamin Johns, president of the Indian Student Association, serves a curry of butter chicken from India. Curry originated in India.

Diners had a choice of seven different curries from four regions.

Many Americans think curry is spiced hot, but that is not always the case, depending on the spices used. It can include meat or be vegetarian. Different vegetables are included, depending on what is available locally.

University to discuss ‘Making A Murderer’ with university experts

Ohio Northern University will host a panel discussion concerning the Netflix documentary series “Making a Murderer” in the McIntosh Activities Room on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m.

A five-person panel of ONU professors will address student questions about specific events, actions and themes portrayed in the show, and compare them with industry best practices and scientific research. The panel’s goal is not to retry Steven Avery’s case or decide guilt or innocence, but to objectively examine elements of the case presented by the filmmakers.

Continuing McIntosh Center update

All aboard! This is the Polar Espresso on the ONU campus.

The coffee shop opened Monday and sells baked goods, coffee and bottled drinks.

The shop is currently open from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Polar Espresso is part of the continuing update to McIntosh Center. (From ONU Facebook)
