McGuffey accident kills one, sends two to hospital

A single-vehicle accident in Marion Township, south of McGuffey resulted in one death and two persons hospitalized on Feb. 13.

Jack Parkins, of McGuffey, was driving east on County Road 110 on Feb. 13 and lost control of the vehicle, going off the south side of the road, according to Hardin County Sheriff's Office.

The car overturned in a drainage ditch. A passenger in the vehicle, Patricia Parr, of McGuffey, was taken to Lima Memorial Health System, where she was pronounced dead.

Parkins and another passenger, Jeffery Jones, were also taken to Lima Memorial with non-life-threatening injuries.

Search warrant leads to stolen items recovered in Ridgeway

Hardin County Sheriff deputies along with the Hardin County Crime Task Force executed a search waarrant at 109 N. Hardin St., Ridgeway, on Feb. 13, according to the sheriff's office.

The search warrant was as a result of a tip from the West Virginia state police.

Deputies located a stolen goose neck trailer, two side-by-side UTV's, all reported stolen from West Virginia, along with numerous other stolen items.

A truck was also seized by deputies. The case remains under investigation according to Sheriff Keith Everhart.

Student identified in Thursday written school threat

On Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Ada Police Department was called to the Ada Schools in reference to a written threat that had been discovered on a wall within the school. 

After an investigation by Ada School Administration and the Ada Police Department a student was identified as the writer and no credible threat existed.

The Ada Schools will be handling any disciplinary action while the Ada Police Department continues to its investigation into possible criminal charges.

ATV accident takes life of driver

Jeremy Imes was killed in an ATV accident near his home southeast of Ada on Monday night.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, according to the sheriff's report.

The crash occurred in a woods at the residence, 4597 State Route 701. Deputies believe Imes was driving the vehicle on a trail and struck a downed tree, which caused the ATV to flip over on top of him.

The sheriff's office was called just after midnight on Tuesday. Imes was deceased when officers arrived.

Single-vehicle accident claims life of Alger resident

An Alger man was killed Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash according to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.

Terry L. Hattery, 70, of Alger, was driving a pickup truck at 6:40 p.m. west on state Route 309 near County Road 115 when he drove off the north side of the road and struck a tree.

Hattery was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's report.

The crash remained under investigation Wednesday
