Suspicious package investigated at courthouse annex

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a county office receiving a suspicious package. At 11:30 a.m. this morning, Sheriff’s Office received a report from Hardin County Job and Family Services that they had received a suspicious package through the US mail service 

 

Investigators arrived on scene along with members from the Kenton Fire Department. It was determined that the building would be evacuated for the safety of the employees and public until the package and area could be rendered safe. 

 

Coffee with a Cop set for Tuesday

 

Officers of the Ada Police Department will be on hand for Coffee with a Cop on Tuesday. They will be at McDonald’s from 8-10 a.m. on Oct. 16 to give community members an opportunity to ask questions and voice concerns as they work to make Ada a S.A.F.E.R. place to live. And, the coffee is free.

After a two week investigation into multiple thefts of commercial and industrial batteries from numerous locations throughout the county arrests have been made by the Investigations Division of the Hardin Co Sheriff's Office.

Thomas Risner (30 years old) of 106 East Columbus Street was arrested and booked into MCCC for Grand Theft and Receiving Stolen Property after he was found to be in possession of numerous stolen commercial batteries.

Sheriff Everhart stated additional charges on Risner and others involved are forthcoming. The case remains active and under investigation.

911 is back on line

The emergency phone number, 911, to the Hardin County sheriff’s office has been fixed. The line was out for a while today due to an accident near Kenton.
