Sept. 18 Hardin Field Day tackles ag issues

Agricultural Conservation, Protecting Water: Keeping Soil and Nutrients in the Field’ will be the theme of the Hardin County Field Day on Friday, Sept. 18. 

The event will start out at the Jerry McBride Farm, 11312 County Road 60, Dola, at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 1:30 p.m. with complimentary lunch.  The field day is being presented by the Hardin SWCD, USDA-NRCS, The Nature Conservancy, Findlay Implement Company, John Deere, and OSU Extension. The field day addresses several ag conservation and water quality issues.

Ada Academic Boosters membership drive underway

Ada Academic Boosters 2015-16 membership drive is underway according to Tracie Amburgey, president.

The booster group is an volunteer organization that recognizes and encourages Ada students in grades Kindergarten through seniors in high school.

The booster sponsor several activities during the school year include:
• Scholastic book fairs
• New books for media center
• Grad Tab sponsor
• Reading carnival
• Quarterly honor roll assemblies
• Academic honors wall
• College scholarships
and a list of several additional programs.

Order your Ada Music Booster chicken barbecue tickets now; Sept. 3 deadline

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Ada Music Boosters chicken barbecue, always held behind the stadium, the evening of the first home football game of the year. This year the event will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, before the Bulldogs host LCC.

The barbecue is a major fund-raiser for the Ada Music Boosters. Proceeds benefit numerous projects for Ada’s instrumental and vocal music programs. Tickets are being sold now through Sept. 3.

It's Bingo in Alumni N-men's building in September

Ada Bingo plays every Thursday at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m. 

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club, Ada Music Boosters and the Ada-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.

Plus, on the third Thursday of the month, the special Bonus Night continues at Ada Bingo.

The hugely popular Bingo Bonus Nights are held on the third Thursday of each month. When Ada Bingo reaches the Level 1 payout minimum (at least 40 players), payouts will be at Level 2 prize levels.

Local McDonald's holds "Cyber Hiring Day" Sept. 9

Lewis Family McDonald’s is looking to hire at several of its restaurants on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

While this is certainly not the first hiring day the group has held, this event is focused on leveraging the new local McDonald’s website, www.MyLocalMcDs.com.

“Cyber Hiring Day has been designed to hire the best customer service oriented individuals that the community has to offer. The new MyLocalMcDs.com makes it easy to learn about our benefits and to apply online,” said local owner/operator Jessica Hall.

STUDENT’S IN GRADES 9-12: do you have a study hall or two? Consider working for a teacher during that time to earn a credit toward your HS graduation. Several teachers are still in need of a student worker, just contact Mrs. Temple or Mrs. Prater and they'll help you get one credit closer to graduation."

ATTENTION ANYONE IN GRADES 9-12: Interested in being a member of this year’s high school Quiz Bowl Team. We will meet Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. in Mr. Lusk’s room.
